Running back could get more playing time down the stretch
The Las Vegas Raiders may give running back Sincere McCormick a chance to play a lot in the coming weeks.
He made his debut in a Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos and flashed with runs of 11 and 19 yards. He finished with 33 yards on five carries in his first carries of his career. Las Vegas coach Antonio Pierce said Monday that McCormick earned more playing time heading into Friday’s game at Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
Let’s take a closer look at McCormick:
Size:
5-9, 205 pounds.
NFL experience:
McCormick, 24, signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He spent that entire season on the injured reserve. He spent the 2023 season on the practice squad and most of this season on the practice squad. He has appeared in two games this season.
College:
He went to the University of Texas at San Antonio where he starred for three seasons.
How he will fit in the rest of the season:
It may depend on the health of Zamir White and Alexander Mattison. But if McCormick continues to break runs when he gets a chance, his should get more opportunities to carve out a role.
