Raiders added quarterback to practice squad
The Las Vegas Raiders signed quarterback Jake Luton to the practice squad this week.
Let’s take a closer look at Luton:
Size:
6-6, 224 pounds.
NFL experience:
Luton was drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He ahs bounced around since then. He has also been on the roster and practice squad with Seattle Seahawks (2021), Miami Dolphins (2021), Jacksonville (2022), New Orleans Saints (2022 and 2023), Carolina Panthers (2023 and 2024). The Panthers cut him in August. Luton has played in three NFL games, all with the Jaguars in 2020. He went 0-3 as a starter. He completed 60 of 110 passes for 624 yards with two touchdown passes and six interceptions.
College:
He began his college career at Idaho and finished at Oregon State. He played in 23 games for the Beavers spanning 2017-19.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Luton, 28, is in the program because rookie Carter Bradley was signed to the 53-man roster as a backup with starter Aidan O’Connell injured. If Luton impresses in the final four weeks of the season, the Raiders keep sign him a future contract in January and bring him to the offseason program and training camp.
