Buffalo could end up trading standout running back
The Las Vegas Raiders badly need a running back and they are fully expected to take a player at the position early in the draft, perhaps even with the No. 6 overall pick.
The running back class is expected to be very strong and the Raiders could easily find a starting-quality player with No. 37 or No. 68 if they choose to address another big need in the first round.
However, there may be a veteran option available as well. Smoke is building that the Buffalo Bills could end up being open to trading standout James Cook because they are having trouble getting a contract done.
If so, perhaps the Raiders would be interested.
You’re GM of the Bills and the call comes in: We’ll give you a third round pick (Lets call it 68th overall) for James Cook.
You taking that?

There would be pros and cons of a Raiders’ trade for Cook.
First of all, he’s good. He has averaged 4.9 yards per carry in his career and had 16 rushing touchdown last season. He is still is young, he will turn 26 in September, and he should play for awhile.
But he will be expensive and older than a running back the Raiders could take in this draft.
So, would getting a known commodity in Cook work for you or would you rather the Raiders dip into the draft for their own running back to develop?
