One of the goals of the offseason for the Las Vegas Raiders has clearly been to improve on the offensive line. The franchise has already added former Chicago Bears lineman Cody Whitehair while also drafting Jackson Powers-Johnson in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Head coach Antonio Pierce is all about physicality and being on the attack, and that can’t happen without being strong in the trenches. And to that point, the Raiders aren’t done yet as they have made another move to add some depth to their offensive line.
According to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network, the Raiders have added former New Orleans Saints lineman Andrus Peat:

The signing gives the Raiders some depth and versatility along the line. Peat was a three-time Pro Bowler with the Saints from 2018-2020. Overall he started 102 games in New Orleans, primarily at left guard. However, after losing his starting job last season, Peat stepped in at left tackle and started 11 games there for the Saints, more than holding his own and proving he has plenty to offer.
The left side of the Raiders line is pretty set in stone with Kolton Miller at left tackle and Dylan Parham at left guard, along with Andre James returning at center. Right guard and tackle, however, are up in the air, and Peat could play a role in that competition.
Whitehair and Powers-Johnson are expected to fight for that right guard spot, while third-round pick Delmar Glaze could battle with the returning Thayer Munford Jr. at right tackle. Peat could also figure into either competition while providing veteran leadership and mentorship for the younger players.
The Raiders came into this offseason with a purpose, and their moves so far show exactly how they intend to play this upcoming season.
Raiders sign former Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton
The Raiders aren’t solely making additions in the trenches, however, as they have also been adding to their receiving core. The team has already added former Dallas Cowboys wideout Michael Gallup, but they made another signing in former Los Angeles Chargers receiver Jalen Guyton.
Guyton is a bit more of a deep threat, capable of stretching defenses. He is a decent depth piece as the team already has Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers as well as second-year receiver Tre Tucker who is expected to have a larger role as well.
