Should Raiders trade Michael Mayer now?
We all know, of course, the Las Vegas Raiders are in fine shape at the tight end position where Brock Bowers established himself as an elite player at the position as a rookie.
The record-breaking Bowers is going to be a problem for the next decade and the Raiders’ offense will revolve around him in 2025 and beyond.
But, of course, the team has more at the position. The Raiders recently signed veteran Ian Thomas and they also have third-year player Michael Mayer at the position along with Bowers.
There has been rumors that the Raiders may want to trade Mayer, who the previous regime moved up to draft with the No. 35 overall pick in 2023. The highly-regarded Mayer has been slow to develop thus far and he missed six games due to a personal issue in 2024.
Still, he is highly talented and has a chance to develop.
Does the addition of Thomas, a backup who has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers, make you feel better about trading Mayer or do you still feel like he has a role in Las Vegas?
