Quarterback is suddenly available
The Las Vegas Raiders need a quarterback of the future and, frankly, they could use one for the rest of the 2024 season.
Suddenly, there happens to be a quarterback who will soon be available. Friday, the New York Giants released quarterback Daniel Jones. He will go to waivers and will very likely clear because of his high salary. He is expected to be a free agent Monday afternoon and be free to sign anywhere.
Jones was benched as the Giants’ starter this week and asked for his release.
It could be argued that Jones would be an upgrade over the Raiders current group of quarterbacks Gardner Minshew, Desmond Ridder and Aidan O’Connell, who is eligible to return from the injured reserve next week.
Jones could be a cheap option to play the rest of the seoans for the 2-8 Raiders and they could get a look at him as a possible option in 2025.
Of course, Jones, 27, has struggled this season and during at other parts of his six-season NFL career. Jones has thrown for 2,070 yards, his thrown eight touchdowns and seven interceptions and has completed 63.3 percent of his passes this season.
What’s your thoughts on Jones joining the Silver and Black?
