Carr could play Sunday against the Raiders with a chance to play his former team
Derek Carr led the Las Vegas Raiders for nine seasons, being drafted in 2014. While the Silver and Black had two playoff appearances, it didn’t lead to consistent success and was released in 2023.
Carr signed with the New Orleans Saints when he became a free agent. Last season, he missed the playoffs going 9-8, and this year has dealt with multiple injuries, leaving him sidelined for a total of 6 games.
The recent injury for Carr was a concussion and fracture in his left hand. It was assumed the former Raiders quarterback would be out for his chance to face his former team. However, interim head coach Darren Rizzi believes Carr could suit up for the Saints on Sunday.
His grip strength gets a little bit better every day, The biggest thing would be being able to see if we could, on Friday or Saturday, get him to simulate what a game would look like.”
If Carr does suit up, it can give this game a little more juice between two teams looking to pick the top ten of the draft. Many Raiders fans would love to beat Carr after he departed from the team. If he doesn’t suit u,p Spencer Rattler would be the quarterback the Raiders face on Sunday.
