The Raiders will add a quarterback next season, and it could be Shedeur Sanders from Colorado
The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-12 and currently sit at the number two spot for the 2025 NFL draft. The Silver and Black need a quarterback. Tom Telesco missed out on the six first-round quarterbacks from 2024, with them all gone before the 13 pick. This season, he can have a chance to add a new signal caller with a high draft pick.
One of the quarterback prospects tied to the Raiders is Shedeur Sanders from Colorado. Sanders was the Big 12 offensive player of the year, helping lead the team to a 9-3 record on the season. He threw 35 touchdowns and 3926 yards in 2024 and is in a battle with Cam Ward to be the first quarterback off the board.
Sanders’s tweets saying “Thank you, God” after the Raiders’ losses have helped spread the idea that he favors the Raiders. ESPN staff writer Jordan Rannan, who is on the beat for the New York Giants, is hearing that Sanders prefers the Raiders.
Multiple sources close to Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado program believe his preference would be to land in Las Vegas. The Raiders and Giants are currently tied with the worst record in the NFL.
This news should have fans excited for the future and the possibility of a new quarterback in the building. However, the Raiders players will be looking to end the losing skid, which could ruin their draft position. They will have a chance against Jacksonville, which is 3-11 on the season.
