New Las Vegas quarterback is a longshot
The Las Vegas Raiders didn’t trade for Geno Smith for him to become the NFL MVP.
But, of course, they will take it.
Las Vegas traded for Smith last month (sending a third-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for him) to finally bring stability to the quarterback position. They expect Smith, who turns 35 during the season, to be an above-average player and lead the offense.
Anything more would be a bonus. So about the MVP award?
According to our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook, Smith is a big longshot at 80-1 to win the award.
Is it likely? No. Is it possible? Sure.
Why not.
