Team owner is not being cheap when it comes to building Las Vegas Raiders coaching staff for 2025
The Las Vegas Raiders are starting to fill out their coaching staff over the past week. First, Pete Carroll retained Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator and Tom Mchmahon for special teams. He also kept defensive line coach Rob Leonard, making him the run game coordinator.
Then, on Sunday, it was announced that he had hired Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Kelly was surprised because Carroll was connected to his former OC, Darrell Bevell. It ended up being the former UCLA and NFL head coach who now takes the reigns of the offense.
The Raiders’ respected coaching staff creates the hope of stability within the franchise. The owner of the Silver and Black made a commitment to rebuilding this football team the right way. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Davis has been willing to spend cash to ensure he can land the right people for the job.
The @Raiders told candidates during their search they were making a serious commitment with an infusion of cash from the new owners. Here it is—Chip Kelly was lured to Vegas with a deal averaging $6 million per year, per sources.
Kelly is now the NFL’s highest-paid coordinator.

It wasn’t only Chip Kelly who got a big payday. Graham received a raise as well to come back to the Raiders.
Give Mark Davis credit too—he prioritized finding partners who’d invest back in the team and it’s happening in a very big way now. DC Patrick Graham, who was already over $3 million per, got a raise to stay as well. https://t.co/utkOIYbjRA

If Davis is willing to spend money to build a winner, John Spytek might be able to add key free agents. With a great draft, the Raiders could improve quickly under the new regime. It could be a new era for Raider Nation.
