The race for the No. 1 pick is on with 7 teams at 2-7.
After another hopeless loss in Week 9, 41-24 to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Las Vegas Raiders are sitting at 2-7 heading into the bye week and the second half of the season. Even the most optimistic fans recognize that the season is pretty much lost and it’s time to start talking about the 2025 NFL Draft.
So, let’s take a look at the updated draft order after Sunday’s action.
2025 NFL Draft Order
Order below is via Tankaton.com/NFL
- New England Patriots 2-7
- Jacksonville Jaguars 2-7
- New Orleans Saints 2-7
- Carolina Panthers 2-7
- Cleveland Browns 2-7
- Las Vegas Raiders 2-7
- New York Giants 2-7
- Miami Dolphins 2-6
- Tennessee Titans 2-6
- New York Jets 3-6
The Raiders are creeping closer toward the No. 1 overall pick and getting their top quarterback choice in the draft. If the draft order above holds, three teams (Saints, Panthers and Browns) picking ahead of Las Vegas could likely be looking for a passer as well.
That’s not a terrible spot to be in, but nine teams currently have just two wins so the top 10 picks are still very fluid at this point. The Silver and Black’s next contest against the Dolphins will be “big” as both teams could enter the matchup at 2-7.

- Time to look in the mirror: “Sucks to f**cking lose five straight. Sh*t sucks. … Got to control what we can control. … Everyone’s got to look in the mirror,” Maxx Crosby said after the game as Silver and Black Pride rounded up the top posts/tweets after Sunday’s loss.
- Raiders-Bengals recap: “I haven’t watched every game of the Las Vegas Raiders’ season. I’m filling in for Bill Williamson while he recovers from an injury. Is this what it’s always like? The Raiders played the Cincinnati Bengals this afternoon, and it just seems like Las Vegas just doesn’t have a plan,” SB Nation’s Matt Warren offers some fresh perspective on the Raiders, and yes Matt, it is this miserable to watch the team this season.
- Benching Minshew might just be the start: “Quarterback Gardner Minshew II was benched for the third time this season, and offensive coordinator Luke Getsy may not survive the bye week,” The Athletic’s Vic Tafur wrote. “And ironically, it’s the offense’s early game success that makes the rest of the games like Sunday feel especially miserable.”
- Desmond Ridder time?: “Raiders coach Antonio Pierce did not commit to Desmond Ridder as the team’s starting quarterback after Ridder replaced Gardner Minshew late in the third quarter of Las Vegas’ eventual 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday,” ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez wrote. “But Pierce acknowledged he was impressed with Ridder’s play, which included a 22-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Brock Bowers with 41 seconds to play.”
