Brady intends to fulfill his contract with Fox as a broadcaster despite becoming more involved with the Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders coaching search has become a big topic for the football media. After the firings of Tom Telesco and Antonio Pierce, the Raiders were not expected to attract the attention of top candidates for the job.
A surprise for most around the league, the Raiders appear to be front runners for Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. One reason for this is the presence of Tom Brady in the front office. Brady’s involvement in the process has raised red flags, with some in the media. The former Super Bowl champion called the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Lions game in week 18 and was seen speaking to Johnson before the game.
However, even with speculation that Brady will step down from the booth, his agent, Don Yee, says the opposite. He told Sports Business Journal that Brady intends to fulfill his contract with Fox.
“Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team,” Yee said to SBJ’s Ben Fischer. “And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”
Brady isn’t leaving the booth, which will cause the media to push for tampering if the Raiders become successful.
