The Los Angeles Chargers added another target for Justin Herbert by signing tight end Gerald Everett, as shared by his agents, SportsTrust Advisors.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the 27-year-old agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal with $8 million guaranteed and up to $1.5 million in bonuses.

Following four years in a block-heavy role for the Los Angeles Rams, Everett saw more receiving opportunities with the Seattle Seahawks. He set career-highs in receptions (48), receiving yards (478), and touchdowns (four) in 15 games last season.
The 6’3″, 240-pound tight end could once again elevate his game in a new setting.
After losing Hunter Henry to the New England Patriots, the Chargers signed Jared Cook last offseason. The veteran is now a free agent after registering 564 yards and four touchdowns.
That clears a path for Everett to seize the starting job over Donald Parham Jr., a talented but raw playmaker. He’ll join Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams as Herbert’s primary options in last year’s fourth-ranked offense.
The Chargers have already made splashier moves on defense, acquiring Khalil Mack from the Chicago Bears and signing premier free-agent cornerback J.C. Jackson. Everett is yet another piece for a team looking to make major strides in Herbert’s third season.
