The Peacocks started out the game playing well and were tied with the Wildcats at halftime. They were then down in the second half but rallied back multiple times to force overtime.
Daryl Banks III was the hero in overtime for the Peacocks. He drained two crucial free throws with just seconds remaining to put the game out of reach and force the upset.
He led the team in points with 27 and was one of only two Peacock players to score in double figures. Doug Edert was the other after he finished with 20 points.
Saint Peter’s will now await the winner of the Murray State-San Francisco game that’s getting set to tip-off.
Welcome to the madness everyone!
