On the same day ESPN officially announced his hiring, Joe Buck made one last appearance on FOX programming.
The renowned NFL and MLB broadcaster was revealed as a contestant on The Masked Singer. So one could technically say his 28-year career with FOX ended by getting kicked off a game show after a ravenous crowd repeatedly implored him to “take it off.”

He said farewell not with a heartfelt speech or poignant sign-off call, but by singing Cheap Trick’s “I Want You To Want Me” while donning a bizarre costume.

Buck’s appearance on the pre-taped show airing right as ESPN formally signed him and Troy Aikman to call Monday Night Football games is likely coincidental timing. But perhaps it’s weirdly fitting that the play-by-play announcer got to sing his way off stage.
Maybe Aikman can get a cameo on LEGO Masters before heading to Bristol.
