Unfortunately, the 2021-22 season will be one to forget for Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman.
On Friday afternoon, ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski announced that Wiseman has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, recently suffered a setback in his recovery process. He’s been out since last April due to a torn meniscus.
“ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman has been ruled out for the rest of the season and will continue rehabilitating his right knee. Wiseman has been recovering from a meniscus repair last April, and the team has been cautious to protect him for the long-term,” Wojnarowski said.

As a rookie, Wiseman averaged 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game for the Warriors.
Golden State has been just fine this season without Wiseman on the floor, but the coaching staff was hopeful that he’d be able to return in time for the playoffs.
With the playoffs just around the corner, the Warriors will lean heavily on Kevon Looney at the center position.
